True Blood Secrets

You should know up front that there are definitely some spoilers contained below. If you are just getting into the True Blood series, you may want to bookmark this page and come back later! True Blood is now in its fourth season which means there have been quite a few secrets revealed and some new ones hinted at.

Other Creatures

As if vampires were not enough True Blood introduces an entire host of fantasy creatures, both in form and in mention. In one hilarious scene, Sookie goes to sleep with a cute collie on the end of her bed and wakes up to find an entirely nude Sam Merlotte in his place! Sam is what is known as a shifter, he can change into any animal he has seen and his favorite is a stray collie that hangs around the bar. Needless to say, Sookie is a bit upset by the encounter and exclaims what is next Werewolves! Indeed Miss Stackhouse there will be werewolves, were-panthers, were-tigers and even goblins in your future.

Already on the show you will have seen all of the above, though no one tells you the doctor that tends to Sookie after she is attacked in the woods is indeed a goblin, as well as fairy’s, Maenad and witches. While many stories would villainize a species, such as the wolves are bad and the vamps are good, True Blood depicts them all as having both good and bad individuals, more human like if you will.

What is Sookie?

For nearly three seasons, the creators and writers of True Blood hint that Sookie is more than simply a mind reading waitress. In her encounters with Maryanne Forrester, the maenad from season two, a bright light shoots from her hand and the creature wonders aloud, “what are you?” Finally, the truth is revealed Sookie is about 1/8th fairy. Her grandmother had an affair with a fairy who crossed into the human world, which finally explains her mind reading abilities and something a bit more disturbing. Fairies are irresistible to vampires, they smell of sunshine to a vampire and their blood is intoxicating! Sookie is less than impressed to find out, in her words, that she is “vampire crack”.

Bills History

Though the truth about Bill Compton is still coming out you will find out in the beginning of season four that there are quite a few more twists and turns to come. Apparently, Bill has been involved with the American Vampire League for several years, having been approached by Nan Flannigan in the late 80′s. His covert affairs began long before Sophie Anne sent him to find out the truth about Sookie. He and the AVL, conspire to eliminate the Queen of Louisiana, leaving Bill to take her place.

Conclusion

These are but a few of the big story secrets recently revealed in HBO’s hit series True Blood. There are sure to be more to come, including perhaps some famous faces who are now vampires. It will be interesting to see how many creatures and secrets are translated from the book series to your television screen.

Sam WILL kill Tommy or his Mother:
Why has no one picked up on what Sam’s new girlfriend said? “When a shifter kills another shifter that is a blood relative, then thay can start shifting into other people (humans) not just animals”. When I heard this I first thought that Sam would end up killing Tommy, then feel so guilty that he starts shifting into him. But after last week I think that Tommy might kill his mother, then kidnap Sam and take over his Bar and Sam’s life. Or Sam will kill their mother and feel so guilty about it that he starts shifting into her so he can finally give Tommy the loving mother that they both have always wanted. What do you think?
