Have you seen the hit show True Blood yet? If you like, vampires, fairies, werewolves, adult content and a little comic relief to boot this could definitely be the show for you. True Blood centers around the life and times of one Sookie Stackhouse. She is a blonde mind reading waitress from a small town in southern Louisiana by the name of Bon Temps. At the beginning of the series, you learn that vampires have just come out of the coffin, after thousands of years living in obscurity. The invention of “true blood” one of many brands of synthetic blood they are able to mainstream with society, well kind of!
Sookie and Bill
Sookie finds herself in the first spot of trouble after meeting Bon Temps newest resident, Bill Compton. He is a newly revealed vampire and as such is meeting mixed reactions. Some people are curious about them while other are repulsed or down right outraged. Sookie happens to be in the first category, however if she knew what were to come she might have chosen the latter.
Apparently, vampire blood has a unique effect on human beings; this effect is unpredictable at best and highly addictive. Not long after meeting Bill, Sookie senses danger from local white trash the Rattrays. They have every intention of trapping the vampire and draining him dry, not only to feed their own habit but also to sell to other V addicts.
Vampires are very strong and quick but helpless when silver is involved. A tiny string of silver chain can hold the oldest vampire nearly immobile. Before Bill knows it, the Rattrays have him held and are beginning to drain his blood behind the bar Sookie works at, Merlottes. She springs to action to save this interesting creature she has just met and gets beat soundly for her trouble!
Sookie and Rene
During season one there is a murderer loose in Bon Temps, young women are turning up dead all over town and unfortunately, her brother has slept with most of them. Needless to say, Jason Stackhouse is the prime suspect and once he becomes hooked on vampire blood himself and his addict girlfriend is found dead in his bed he begins to believe it as well. Sookie uses her powers when customers come into the bar trying to discover the true murderer.
Unfortunately, the true murderer does not come to light until after Sookie’s gran is brutally murdered. Rene, Arlen Fowler’s fiancĂ©e has a distinct dislike for vampires and in particular women who have slept with them, better known in True Blood as fangbangers. In an attempt to kill Sookie, who has begun dating Bill, Rene kills her grandmother and later comes after her.
Conclusion
Sookie seems to be adept at getting herself into sticky situations. She winds up in a werewolf bar searching for her lost lover Bill, hunted by a V addicted shewolf named Debbie and attacked in the woods by a maenad with poison claws!
