In the alternate world of True Blood most fans will agree that few things really shock them anymore. However, when Portia Bellefleur and Bill Compton found out that they were actually related to each other, there were some started gasps.
Unable to handle the fact that he and Portia were ancestors caused Bill to turn away from her physically. But while this might seem the end of things for the lovebirds on True Blood, there are suggestions that there might be more to the story still.
After all, in a recent article, Alan Ball has all but admitted, there are going to be some changes to the relationship, but there is also a good chance that the relationship is going to still be 
explored. After all, the character Portia is a top notch lawyer and her skill is arguing things that take place. In her opinion this isn’t something that is actually a big deal, especially since a considerable amount of time has passed.
However, convincing Bill is going to be a tough one to make happen. While he is ruthless and will kill for no reason and at times lie to get what he wants, there are certain parts of his moral belief system that can’t be swayed and this is quite possibly one of those items that he will have trouble letting go of.
So what happens between the two in the future? At this point, Ball isn’t making and further comments. Fans will either need to turn to the hit series of books for clues or they may just want to watch the show and find out the future as everyone else will. After all, the True Blood series is one that is notorious for not adjusting the mythology of the world to better suit its needs. While this done largely by killing characters off or extending the life of certain cast members, this new revelation could just top all those in the long run. There is one thing that is certain though, since Charlaine Harris doesn’t like to step in on the creative process of the show, she may just give her blessing to whatever direction the series goes in.
So as fans continue to ask themselves if Bill and Portia really have a future together, the only people with the answer are going to keep fans in suspense as the season plays along. What is certain though, no matter how it turns out, it is certainly going to be one of the most entertaining story arcs that they will have a chance to explore on the hit HBO television series.
There is no doubt that by the end of the season fans will have a better understanding of what is going on though. In fact, this appears to be a strong fact the series is focusing on and while a total revelation on what ultimately happens is likely weeks away, there is certain to be some kind of temporary resolution to this in the near future.
