True Blood Season Four

The new season of True Blood has begun and vampire lovers across the country are tuning in to see what happens next. There was much turmoil in season three of True Blood, with the revelation that Bill had been sent to basically procure Sookie for the Queen, Bills near death at the hands of Lorena and subsequent attack on Sookie and the entire Edgington fiasco, Sookie has had enough. She runs to the graveyard to visit her grans grave where she meets Claudine, a fairy, and disappears into a bright light.

Where did Sookie Go?

Season four opens to answer the question of where Sookie disappeared to at the end of season three. You of course know that fairies were involved so it is not too surprising to find her surrounded by beautiful people, glowing fruit and a peaceful setting. She has gone to the realm of the fairies!

While wandering around Sookie begins to meet people, real people she knew from the real world. Such as Barry the bellhop, a telepath like her she had met in Dallas and her granddaddy who had disappeared over 20 years ago. Everyone is wandering around, visiting and devouring the pretty lighted fruit. Whether her Sookie senses were on overdrive or the time with vampires had finally taught her to pay attention to her surroundings we will never know, but she definitely gets the feeling something is wrong and telepathically says so to her grandfather. Which of course, everyone can hear!

After a dramatic sequence that ends in the perfect world melting away, ugly pointy ears and balls of light being flung at her, Sookie returns to the real world with Grandpa it tow. He, however, has eaten the glowing fruit and will soon die, but not before giving her a memento to pass on to Jason.

Home Sweet Home?

When Sookie arrives home, she finds that many things have changed; in fact, the repair person working on the windows threatens to call the police if she will not leave. Apparently, time in fairyland works differently than in the real world and Sookie has been gone for nearly a year. Most of her friends and family believe she has met an untimely end at the hands of her former lover, vampire Bill Compton. Jason has even sold her house, though he is not sure to whom.

Eric

Very quickly, you learn that Eric Northman has purchased her home, he says in hopes that she would someday return. After all, he has all the time in the world to wait, right? Along the way, Eric has become quite genuinely fond of Sookie, even tricking her into drinking his blood so that they will be bonded. He has made quite a few improvements on her home and can now come and go as he pleases. (Vampires need permission to enter a home they do not own). In episode three Eric is bewitched and left with no memory of who he is or anyone else for that matter! It is quite lovely to see him without guile!

Conclusion

Upcoming previews hint at Bill sentencing Eric to the true death and much more excitement. It is hard to imagine the True Blood world without Eric in it, but since the creators are not bound to stick to the books verbatim, it is a possibility. Stay tuned to find out more!

Why has no one picked up on what Sam’s new girl friend said? “When a shifter kills another shifter that is a member of their family, they can gain the ability to shift into people”. When I heard this I thought Sam would end up killing Tommy. Sam would then feel so guilty about it that he starts shifting into Tommy. BUT After last weeks show I changed my mind and now think Tommy will end up killing his mother. Then he will kidnap Sam and take over his bar and life. Or Sam will kill his mother and start shifting into her to give Tommy the loving mother that he never had out of guilt. Why else would Allen Ball add the part about Sam’s girlfriend shifting into her dead mother n(the mother she killed giving birth to her)? This is not something that was in the books.
